Preparation Week Update From Managua, Nicaragua

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

Hello LOLI followers! We are in Managua, Nicaragua this week and wanted to share an update on what is happening down here in preparation for Nicaragua Ora (Nicaragua Prays). Stephen stepped out of customs and onto the stage to deliver a powerful message to the good people of Managua. Outside where the staging area was located, a young man was selling hats on the street. When the young man heard what was happening inside he came inside. The message wasn’t a salvation message, nor did it need to be, because by the end of the message the young man had accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord of his life. Already the entire preparation trip was worth it, because that single man came to know Jesus. Later, when we pulled into the final street leading to a church Stephen spoke at that evening, we drove slowly as the streets began…

Saturday Night Convention For The Church Of God In Nicaragua

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

Here’s a quick photo update from the Saturday night convention for the Church of God in Nicaragua. There were an estimated 8,000 in attendance! It was a complete surprise as the team was expecting about 700 pastors to be there. When they arrived at the location in the middle of nowhere, they found hundreds of cars were packed in and thousands of people waiting hungry for the Lord. The picture speaks for itself, the harvest is plenty but the workers are few. We serve a mighty God! But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. – Acts 1:8 (NIV)

God Continues To Move In Preparation For Nicaragua Prays

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

A quick update from the team in Nicaragua this week preparing for Nicaragua Prays! The trip is going really well, and the favor of the Lord is on everything they are doing. Stephen feels that there is something stirring there in a powerful way, and after hearing the stories I couldn’t agree more. The Light of Life International team has been able to meet with the Secretary of State and over 100 political and Christian leaders in the last few days. Afterward the Secretary of State came and asked for prayer from Stephen and Dennis, what an honor and privilege to pray with the political leaders of a nation! There was also favor during the ministry to the Assemblies of God leaders in Nicaragua. Today, Stephen got to preach for one hour on the Enlace Christian television network, which broadcasts to the whole nation. Afterwards Stephen had lunch with the…

Nicaragua Prays Set For The Summer Of 2013

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

On Saturday, we officially kicked off Nicaragua Prays for the summer 2013 with a formal luncheon for pastors and political leaders. The Holiday Inn banquet hall was packed with over 400 in attendance. With the tables filled, extra chairs were brought in and the meeting was standing room only. We even temporarily ran out of food because of the response! There is a hunger in Nicaragua for the Gospel and if the kickoff luncheon was any indication of things to come, then this summer could be absolutely massive. It was humbling to have the leadership of several denominations sitting at our table. Please pray for unity and humility to multiply among Christian leaders and organizations as we move forward! We also met with the head of the national police and several other political leaders – as we are again praying for a gathering of the nation from every sector this…

Bears On A Mission In Managua, Nicaragua

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

The LOLI team just returned from an amazing weekend in Managua, Nicaragua. The Bears on a Mission team did a fabulous job handing out the hundreds of big teddy bears collected at the LOLI banquet and in partnership with a local Christian school. We didn’t get to see all the children at the orphanage because some of them had been hit with chicken pox. But the ones we did see were mostly between 3-5 years old and very eager to sing, clap, hug – and most of all, pick out their very own bear! The remaining bears went to the kids in the hospital. In one room, we met a teenage girl who had hurt her leg – but because she had been diagnosed with Lupus, her injury was much more serious due to the high risk of infection. As we looked around the closet sized room, several hand-written Scriptures…

A Visit To The Mountains Above San Pedro Sula

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

Tonight the team hiked high up into the mountains above San Pedro Sula. At the very top, visible from almost anywhere in the valley below, is a bright red Coca-Cola sign. There overlooking the city, we gathered to pray and worship together. It was an awesome view and an amazing time praying over the city! Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. -Matthew 7:7 (NIV)

Honduras Prays Crusade: A Night Of Political And Spiritual Unity

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

After a week of compassion and evangelism around the city, the first night of the Honduras Ora crusade meetings was finally here. The team headed to the stadium around 5:30, full of anticipation for what was going to take place. As we were ushered into the stadium we heard the sounds of prayer coming from the stage. Then, once we were seated a few hundred feet from the stage, a time of worship began. What a wonderful time of celebration in the presence of the Lord with the people of Honduras! Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks and praise his name. – Psalm 100:4 To see all the people together in one place was encouraging. Both rich and poor, young and old, came together in unity. Even the President of Honduras was in attendance, just as he said he would be. There he stood…

Changing A Child’s Attitude So Jesus Can Change Their Destiny

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

It’s not uncommon in America for hundreds of dollars to pass through our hands each month without a second glance. We spend so much on things that are fleeting, but in Honduras this week, we see just how far our money can go. To those whose have generously donated over the years to Light of Life International, today you helped make a child’s wish come true. They don’t need a new cell phone, or a new video game to play at home. For the child living in poverty, they want something to call their own. See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. – Matthew 18:10 In a place where most children don’t have a single toy to their name, a stuffed animal can change their attitude, and open…

The Harvest Is Plenty But The Workers Are Few

By | LOLI Missions, Uncategorized

It’s now been almost a week since the advance teams arrived here in Honduras. We have seen God do so much, and there is still more work to be done! This has been our largest crusade ever, with more than 150 people here on the ground from around the world. Everyone is “all in” at this point, with hundreds of thousands of souls here in San Pedro that need Jesus. Yet the need is still so great, and even our largest teams are overwhelmed with the needs of the people. At the beginning of the week we loaded up more than 6,000 bags of food, which the Lord has multiplied and used in a mighty way! If you have a heart for missions, would you consider partnering with us to spread the gospel? We would love to hear from you on our website or through Facebook. There is also a…
