Today there was a press conference held with the board of the pastors association of San Pedro Sula and the national media. This means that the biggest media outlets in all of Honduras will be in attendance for the crusades on Friday and Saturday night! They interviewed Stephen and Dennis, talking about Light of Life International and what’s happening leading up to Honduras Prays. The amount of favor the event has received is almost overwhelming. From the President of the country, to the local churches, and now the national media attention, it’s clear God has his hand all over this week! Honduras Prays began with a simple question four years ago: what would it take to do a massive crusade in San Pedro Sula, Honduras? The answers were not inviting: need to be famous or an organization with deep pockets. Neither option described us! But we didn’t stop dreaming either. It was a city that held great meaning to us: our LOLI Latin America office was there, along with friends who long ago became family. But how do you shake a city of a million people? Then it hit: you do it through Relationships! So for the next 3-4 years, we ministered in local communities, built friendships with hundreds of pastors, and listened to the concerns of the people. This story is amazing and started less than 3 weeks ago! Steve and Stephen flew into Tegucigalpa, Honduras to meet up with our crusade director Dennis and the president of the pastors association of San Pedro Sula, all in hopes of meeting with as many governmental leaders as possible. Our biggest priority was to meet with the President of Honduras – but that was still uncertain when we arrived. However, our hopes were not disappointed as the Lord opened the doors – and on Friday, April 27th we met face to face with President Lobo! President Lobo shook our hands at the door and we walked into his large private chamber. As we sat down to talk, we knew our time would be limited to 15-20 minutes.
